I really enjoy communicating science to others. I have given many technical and public talks, and have participated in many forms of scientific outreach.
Here are a few highlights:
Coming soon: TED-style talk recording!

The Smithsonian series "Eye on Science" featured me in the following article, "Kirsten Hall contemplates our role on Earth admist the cosmos"
I showcased my work on Atmospheric Rivers at the Science Museum in Boston, MA.
I had the honor to discuss transferring Astro-skills to Climate-related work or advocacy for the Astrobites 2022 Earth Day series!
I interviewed for a quote in this quant magazine article, "What Drives Galaxies? The Milky Way’s Black Hole May Be the Key."
I am featured in the PBS+BBC NOVA series, "Universe Revealed" in Episode 4 "Black Holes" and
Episode 5 "Big Bang"
In July 2019, I attended the 69th Lindau Meeting of Nobel Laureates in Physics and served as a panelist alongside four Nobel laureates to discuss the "Dark Side of the Universe" (i.e., dark matter and dark energy).
I participated in a JHU Dept. of Physics and Astronomy series to highlight recent publications. This is a technical video aimed at the senior undergraduate or junior graduate student level and explains the results form my 2018 paper on the clustering of dusty star forming galaxies (DSFGs), using quasars as probes of large-scale structure, and using a theoretical model to infer the dark matter halo masses of DSFGs.
